Great account about kare raisu. I occasionally make vegetarian ones, or visit Japanese curry places ( Natto curry was amazing in Hokkaido), but generally prefer richness of SE Asian curries (:

I’ve been thinking of making this and already have a few Japanese curry cubes, so this arrives at the perfect moment. I appreciate knowing the history too!
