Hello, readers and Ramen lovers!
Here’s some exciting news.
I will start a new column in the newsletter about Asian-inspired Sweets and Desserts.
Whether you are a fan of mochi, mango sticky rice, bingsu, or mooncakes, you will find something to satisfy your sweet tooth here.
I hope you are as excited as I am as we dive into this new adventure.
And yeah… There’s a reason why I call it an adventure.
I am terrible in the first place...
No lies here: I kinda suck at making desserts.
There might be a few recipes working for me, but I just don’t have the same attitude and intuition in making desserts as I feel I have towards other dishes.
This new section has a mere practical reason for me: improving at crafting sweet treats.
I need to convince myself I can make desserts and, one day, create a unique whole menu to serve for a full ramen party experience. So, you’ll jump on this journey with me.
What to expect
In this new section, I will explore the delicious and diverse world of Asian desserts. We’ll go through some of the history and culture around them, as well as recipes and some tips and tricks on how to make them at home.
If you have read any other of my posts, you already know I have a sweet spot (oh yes, I said it) for experimentation.
I will attempt to merge Asian-inspired sweets concepts into other desserts, investigating and building original recipes, and sharing my results with you.
Some posts might even include packed sweet snacks that particularly caught my attention and think are worth sharing.
Collabs
I will be openly collaborating with other food writers to feature new recipes and stories.
This is something new for me that I didn't expect to happen when I first created this newsletter. Little did I know about the charming Substack community out there and the other foodie nerd souls writing and sharing precious pieces of their thoughts.
I talked with some of you lately. I am even more convinced about my choice of writing this newsletter and choosing
as a platform.Stay tuned!
